Carroll County also has a number of distilleries and wine tours. For example, one of the strongest spirits in Maryland can be found at the Miscellaneous Distillery.
In the heart of Mount Airy you can pick up one of their spirits, such as the Risky Rum among others.
If you’re in the mood for some barrel-aged Bourbon or some Vodka, then maybe you should head over to Sykesville. There, you’ll find another distillery that many folks in Carroll County love called Patapsco Distilling Inc.
Bike Runs Through Carroll
Maybe you want to enjoy not only the natural scenery in Maryland but some biking as well. You can do this here because there are a number of bike trails ranging from easy to challenging.
If you’re an expert or just love to challenge yourself, then stay in Sykesville where you’ll find Piney Run Park and Reservoir. The terrain is diverse and over 30 miles long. You can’t predict what you’ll ride through next, which is part of the fun.
Those who want a more scenic and relaxed ride should head down to New Windsor. There. you’ll find an eight mile bike trail that’ll pass through Wakefield Valley and some historic homes; some of the homes date back to the 18th century.

There’s a lot to love about Carroll County. You are probably seeing that, but you’ve still got a lot to experience, like the delicious restaurants in the county.
If you head down towards Eldersburg, you’ll find a number of exquisite restaurants that people have fallen in love with like Basta Pasta. This is an Italian restaurant that sources many ingredients from Maryland. It’s a restaurant that cares about the community and wants to offer the freshest ingredients.
In this same area, you’ll find Harvest Inn or the Cheer Lounge. There, you’ll find some delicious meals throughout the day. Some folks go there for the BBQ, while others go for their big breakfast meals.
